ALERT! Our auditors from the Texas Credit Union League experienced a security breach concerning a couple of stolen laptops in Houston. While we believe that the security within the laptops will not be able to be broken we are stepping up our security procedures here at the credit union. When you call for a balance we will ask you for more information to confirm who we are talking to, particularly if you want to change an address or have a check mailed to another party. NO ONE FROM OUR OFFICE WILL EVER CALL YOU AND ASK FOR YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. DO NOT GIVE IT OUT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY CALL US AND WE ASK FOR IT TO CONFIRM YOUR IDENTITY. If you do receive a call from our office it will be either Hope, Lisa, or Marcie that calls and we WILL NOT ask for your Social Security number. Again, we believe this is a case of petty theft and not an information gathering breach, we are still receiving information from our auditors concerning this matter, and they are working diligently with all credit unions involved to address this matter.

The members of Local 142 send their condolences to the Tezel & Cotter family for the loss of Stephen Tezel, Vice President of Tezel & Cotter. Stephen was a fine gentleman and a honest businessman. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Charles Trimble passed away on November 27, 2011. He was a 25 year member of Local 142.

Monday February 27, 2012 through March 9, 2012: Apprenticeship Applications will be accepted at the Apprentice School offices 3630 Belgium lane between the hours of 8 AM to 11:30 AM and 1 PM to 4 PM. In order to apply for the Apprenticeship program you must bring with you the following items; copy of your certified birth certificate, High School Diploma and sealed transcript or GED certificate and scores, DD-214 form if you have beeen in the military.
